Lamont Johnson has announced his commitment to Benedictine University Mesa. The Redhawks compete in the NAIA and are members of the Great Southwest Athletic Conference.

Johnson was a two year member of the GCC men's basketball program. This past season he was named 3rd team All-Region, averaging 12.3 points per game and 6.2 rebounds per game while shooting 47.5% from the field. He also led the team in double-doubles with 7 on the season. Johnson was named the ACCAC D2 men's basketball player of the week for the week of February 10th through the 16th. In two seasons with the Gauchos, Johnson scored 649 points and snagged 318 rebounds.
