Athletic Training
The Glendale Community College Athletic Training staff is committed to the health and well being of 400+ student athletes across 15 athletic programs. The staff consists of highly qualified and dedicated board certified and state licensed athletic trainers. The athletic training staff collaborates with sports medicine physicians to provide the highest level of care for both prevention and treatment of athletic injuries.
Athletic trainers (ATs) are healthcare professionals that specialize in the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic related injuries and illnesses. ATs are also trained to respond and provide emergency care/first aid for an athletic injury. Recognized by the American Medical Association (AMA) as healthcare professionals, athletic trainers are nationally certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) and licensed in the state of Arizona.
The GCC Athletic Training staff serves as clinical preceptors for the athletic training education programs at Northern Arizona University and Grand Canyon University. Serving as clinical preceptors, athletic training students from the two universities are able to gain clinical experience and learn while working with the Gaucho student athletes.
Athletic Training Room
The athletic training room (AT-132) is located on the northwest corner of the athletics building between the Athletics hallway and Men’s locker room. At nearly 1600 sq. ft., the GCC athletic training room provides plenty of space for the staff to provide a high level of care to the student athletes.
The athletic training room is open and staff is present during all Gauchos athletics practices and competitions.
