Three First-Half Goals Ease Men’s Soccer Past Chandler-Gilbert

CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Glendale Community College men's soccer team scored early and often on Tuesday night, defeating Chandler-Gilbert Community College by a score of 4-1.

Hubert Muka was critical to the Gauchos' success in the match, assisting on the first goal and later adding two others. Glendale took the lead in just the third minute as Muke fed Jacob Engwall for a 1-0 lead. Muka then tallied his first of the match in the eighth minute to make it 2-0. Before the halftime break, Engwall added his second of the night as Logan Henley assisted for a 3-0 edge at the intermission.

Though Chandler-Gilbert was able to cut it to 3-1 midway through the second half, a 73rd-minute goal from Muka made it 4-1 and put the match away for Glendale.

Eli Anderson played most of the way in goal for Glendale on the night, making four saves. Jordan Yesenski had four of the 20 shots the Gauchos attempted in the match.

The Gauchos move to 4-1-1 overall on the season and will be back in action at home on Tuesday night in a rescheduled contest with Phoenix College beginning at 7:30 p.m.
