Congratulations to the three Gauchos named ACCAC D2 All Region Pos Season Honors. Preston Lucas, Noah Marks, and Erubiel Ortiz. All Three Gauchos were named ACCAC D2 all Region 2nd Team.
Preston Lucas hit .309, 46 hits, 9-2B, 26 RBI's, 45 Walks, 8 Stolen Bases, and caught 50 games last season.
Noah Marks was 5-3 with 1 save, 1 Complete Game, 61.1 IP, 3.52 ERA, 48 K's, and 21 Walks...Noah was selected ACCAC Pitcher of the Week for Week 5 and Week 9 this past season.
Erubiel Ortiz hit .375, 78 hits, 20-2B, 34 RBI's, 17 Walks, 18 Stolen Bases, and plaed 2B, SS, and 3B in 55 games last season. Erubiel was selected ACCAC Position Player of the Week for Week 3 last season.
Congratulations to these three Gauchos and Best of Luck to them in their academic and athletic careers ahead of them. Marks and Ortiz will be attending Denver Metro University and Lucas will be attend USC Upstate.
Erubiel Ortiz -Glendale – Ortiz went 11-for-39 with five doubles and two home runs while driving in 10 runs in Glendale’s five-win week last week. Ortiz started the week with a four-hit game with three RBIs against Arizona Christian JV on Monday before adding three more RBIs to his total in a 2-for-4 performance against Mesa. Ortiz homered on Wednesday and smacked his second of the week in a win over GateWay on Friday.
Hayden King -Glendale – King struck out eight batters in his lone start of the week, helping the Gauchos to a 7-3 win over GateWay on Friday afternoon. King allowed two earned runs in six innings, walking just one batter.
GCC Gauchos Baseball Team is off to a hot 19-2 start of the 2024 season. The Gauchos will play a home non-conference game with GCU Club on 2/27/24 at 2:00PM. ACCAC Conference play this week is on Friday 3/1/24 at Chandler Gilbert CC with first pitch at 3:00PM. The Gauchos will finish the week at home on Saturday 3/2/24 vs Chandler Gilbert at 12:00PM.
